1909 Alamance Co. Directory – 8 hosiery mills listed – most likely there were more

World War I boom
Glen Raven tents, Holt cotton fabrics, hosiery

1916 – 3 mills in Haw river sold to form Holt-Granite Mills Inc.

Boom to bust after war – Consolidated Mills formed; Holt family loses interest and dominance

1923 J. Spencer Love – Gastonia to Burlington Pioneer Plant

1928 rayon dress goods added
