Textile World Magazine Dan River named Tenth annual model mill 1982 “Dan River at 100 – born again”

The phrase was “born again.” It fit what had happened at Dan River between 1972­ – 1982. Since the early 1970s, the company invested over $250 million in capital improvements, most of that in the past five years. They achieved record profits and sold or restructured obsolete plants. They were doing everything right.
